I didn't choose the gluten and dairy free life, guys.

The gluten and dairy chose me. To mess with. Forever.

It also chose my young daughter, so while I could've probably kept ignoring the issue forever on my own account (I DO super love fried cheese curds), I couldn't do it to my little one.

So here we are, five years dairy free and over three without gluten and let me just tell you, it sucks. It does. Anyone who says differently is lying and anyone who chooses this life for non-health reasons is bananas.

That's the last I will say of that, however. This isn't that kind of blog. This is the kind of blog I probably should've started years ago. My Facebook Messanger inbox is chock-full of inquiries into what we eat. That's because if you know me, you know I'm not a foodie and I'm not wealthy. We eat real food in our family. Convenient food. Food that tastes delicious and not only as "for being gf".

No caveats here, folks. If it sucks, we don't buy it again.

So that's what this is about. I won't post always, but I will be as consistent as life allows and I will post recipes we use whenever I can. I'm no chef... I've just tried a lot of things. I'll post brands and ingredients we've found as the best substitutes. I'll clue you in when I've found good fast food or restaurants. Helpful apps or grocery stores. Tips for dealing with schools, etc when you have a little one with dietary issues. If you have suggestions or questions or comments... I'm an open book.

We're in this together, friends.
She's all the reason I need.

Let's do this.

Erin
